The Fanzine is back with more fresh techno from a range of artists on this second volume of Aumatra. Sev Dah & AlexanderKowalski begin in liquid fashion with deep basslines and muffled kicks that form a bed from which various warped pads emerge. DJ Sodeyama’s ‘Kigal’ is more intense with flashes of the sort of white light that you imagine are at the end of the tunnel of death over syncopated drums. AeFe’s ‘Consciusly’ is pacey and minimal but deep and with a haunting, melancholic energy to the shape-shifting synths. Joton’s ‘Sombras De Paso’ is tightly coiled and rich with intricate drums, percussive textures and synths all duelling with one another. KOLPOS’s ‘He Dreams Of VNY’ is like being in a vast cosmic wind tunnel, probably.
