Back To The Basics EP – Phonogramme 79
L.D.F. y Javonntte protagonizan la referencia número 79 de Phonogramme. Incluye remix de Fred P.
Serial collaborator Lello Di Franco first worked with Detroit-based deep house and garage-house legend Javontte four years ago. For their fifth joint outing, the long-serving duo – both artists recording careers started in the mid 1990s – pop up on Phonogramme with a genuinely action-packed six-tracker. On side A, they happily bounce between raw, red-lined deep house funk (the dusty and restless ‘2720 Street’), tech-tinged, vocoder-sporting dancefloor hypnotism (‘House Express (Silver Mix’), and the spoken-word sporting late-night deep house energy of ‘The Warehouse’. Over on side B, Fred P’s wonderfully smooth, jazzy and far-sighted revision of ‘2720 Street’ is followed by title track ‘Back To The Basics’, another raw, early morning jam marked out by dubbed-out vocal snippets, and jackin’, acid-powered drum jam ‘For The Love of Rhythm’.
