Phorum holds another quorum, as meeting secretary Philippa Pacho – Swedish-born and Berlin-based DJ, producer and Bron Resident – welcomes Dominik Hisslinger aka Red Rooms, fellow Berliner and scene pusher operating under the alias since 2017. The Phorum brief has been consistent since the Phil Berg debut: four driving techno tools per release, nothing extraneous, and ‘Blind Spot’ observes it: opener ‘Axiom’ serves pure quantifications of truth, while ‘Convergence’ is the ramped-up wobbler; ‘Blind Spot’ and ‘Trip’ read more like afterthoughts, their lead lines sounding dying lights of hope in an unstoppable, inhospitable new world.
