Bones & Smoke – Planet Rhythm Special Series 01 LP

Glenn Wilson’s Rotterdam-founded Planet Rhythm has existed since 1994, and it has run more or less continuously since, notably with the SPSERIES sublabel recently in its twenties. This one’s the first album-format entry in that series, going to Granada-born David Moleon, producer since 2006 and with over 350 tracks spanning digital labels under his own name and the aliases Matt Patterson, Dave Mol and Trashman – and for playing three turntables live. Mixing English titles with Spanish ones with seemingly no code as to which language gets used – ‘Oscuro Como Mulo’, ‘Feedback Circuit’, ‘No Y Punto’, ‘Bones & Smoke’, ‘Samba De Janeiro’ – what emerges is a harshest techno beat-em-up ;ong-player, where everything’s taken to the utmost toughest.
