The debut full-length for Outer Orbit with Spekki Webu kicking off: they’re a new label connected to the latter’s own Mizz Softee party, Webbu also having wooed Blue Hour and Amniote over the years with his sophisti-techno, IDM and ambient range. These eight tracks were laid down in The Hague, the concept built around the bootstrap paradox: when a causal loop has no discernible point of origin, and cause folds back into effect. Watery stack overflows and ballistic overloads ensue on the likes of ‘Toned Out’ and ‘Earth’, everything occurring in slightly drowned but limitless space. Stockholm veteran Cari Lekebusch lends his name to the ‘Goodbye Universe’ remix credit, lightening the mood on a wonky jazzy spasm on the D-side.
