Curation Four: Freddy K – The Third Room 25

Essen essences from the German label, welcoming longtime techno activist Freddy K to a series with a truly interesting format. Curation hears friends of the label select just four tracks each for the various-compiling, and K chooses rightly, for a focussed set dedicated to the theme of alignment. First come Toobris and Sons Of Hidden, both former Key Vinyl affiliates of K’s, both with ghostly techno scaries, particularly ‘Before Mirrors’ with its see-through, shatter-resistant tones. B-siders ‘Swing Time’ and ‘Clouds Of Cream’ prove a little wackier, as Jin Synth and Quelza offer a deep dub-scape and twinkly glitch-fest each.
