Dub 16 – Challenger Deep 18

Tokyo’s numbered dub oscillator Yassokiiba is both producer and label, having so far taken personal responsibility for two self-titled ambient dub 7″s. His preferred format is now taken to Challenger Deep – the dub label named after the deepest known point of Earth’s seabed – for two tempo-agnostic additions. ‘Dub 16’ is the licking bop at hip-hop tempo, its lunar tidal stabs snapping to a subtle, varisped beat echoing future garage. ‘Dub 14’ is more traditional, its sub-140 motion and clenched, rattling rims evoking magnetic spin precession and the creaking of doors.
