Previously spotted together on wax way back in 2020 on BFDM, French producer and Egyptian multidisciplinary artist Abdullah Miniaway reunite for Dekmantel’s UFO series and the result is absolute trip for the senses. From powerful Arabic-lyrics and industrial strength beats of opening cuts like ‘I See The Stadium’ and ‘Pixelated’ to the more abstract sound designs like the mournful horns of ‘Tear Chime’, this is a fascinating body of work that laments the once vibrant character of digital communities and reminds us that the best things happen when we work together. Other takeaway moments include the disarming textures and technoid heartbeat of ‘Travelling In BCC’ and the hypnotic percussion and clapping of ‘The Dala ELffect’. Exceptional is this album.
