Fat Fingers – Sway 05

Swedish producer Pierre J has been making funky techno since 2001, and he runs the SWAY label, relaunched in 2023 after starting in 2002. Fat Fingers is exactly what the title says: three tracks of club-minded funk built on a killer bassline. ‘Fat Fingers’ lays his heaviest synth touch on an infectious groove, ‘1979’ builds on a sample from that very year, and ‘Paris to Lisbon,’ which was written mid-flight, adds a funky piano stab, tribal rhythms and dub sirens. It’s a proper toolkit, light on subtlety and heavy on bounce.
