Film (Negatives) – Semantica 189
Pulso & Translate colaboran para la referencia número 189 del sello español Semantica Records.
These two Argentine producers have been building a reputation for nearly a decade, with a string of collaborative releases that balance cerebral structure and raw techno energy. Their latest, Film (Negatives) on Semantica, continues the label’s nearly two-decade tradition of pushing futuristic, underground techno into challenging yet hypnotic spaces. The opener, ‘White Net Chroma’, channels a Jeff Mills-like urgency, with crisp production and tightly woven, machine-driven rhythms. Title track ‘Film (Negatives)’ has a mechanical intensity and a subterranean descent that hums with industrial weight and textural unease.
Other key tracks, ‘Nautic Measurements’ strips percussion back to a pulse, letting its alien tones dominate. A track that feels like navigating uncharted depths. Closer ‘Back To Strangers’ drifts into eerie atmospherics, its ominous drones and sci-fi mood giving the EP a haunting, cinematic finish. These tracks embody Semantica’s techno as a home for the abstract and the alien, where rhythm becomes landscape. Pulso and Translate show again why they are key artists in the genre with making techno that is otherworldly.
