Further Design (2026 remaster) – Blueprint LP 01-26

Draftsman of the Blueprint label, and known for his Birmingham-influenced techno sound (though he’s outposted in London), James Ruskin knows all the tricks. Further Design came in 1998 and works in an identified strain of UK miminalism, centring on stark and purposeful titles (‘Enter’, ‘Internal’, ‘Form’), evoking a kind of geometric, masonic abstraction; meticulous architecting. This reissue reminds us; it’s aged into a reference point for the likes of Sleeparchive, Surgeon and Luke Slater’s newer works, and remains the LP altarpiece on Blueprint (he’d go full Tresor in the years that followed).
