Future Traumatic Stress Disorder – Synaptic Cliffs 24

Concept leads the forms of this release from pdqb, «a strange entity that claims to live in a sonic vessel and that only communicates via specifically organised sounds.» They’re based in Berlin and have built this EP entirely from sampled fragments that lean in to dislocation by pulling sounds from imagined timelines and unresolved loops rather than fixed sessions. There’s an instability at play so rhythms shift, tones blur and structure resists easy attachment with the results being slightly out of phase. It’s inventive techno that never forgets to lay down a compelling groove.
