Hit The Corner – Sunandbass 25
Napes se encarga de hacer sonar la referencia número 25 del sello Sun And Bass con dos tracks originales.
26-year-old Napes brings punchy esprit on his Sunandbass debut ‘Hit The Corner’, technically needing no bio for his generous deployment of snappy snareology and nasal acid melody here. But we’ll indulge you anyway: his first foray into jungle came via a Kemistry & Storm DJ-Kicks mix at 17, though now nearly ten years on, his sound has transmuted into territories well beyond the characteristic skudge and scratch of jungle, the A-title and ‘Clamber’ bringing silken, Juno-laden utopian visions in the pre-drop epilogue, and a synthetic, surround-sound clarity. Even the bass on the B-side is stereo-widened, which only the realest producers around know how to do without incurring phase issues on vinyl.
