The second chapter of Analog Decay’s newly emerging story is all about uncompromising force as Hyperreality commits completely to darkness. Lakej’s six original tracks carve out a world of controlled moodiness that is immersive while often being hostile and alien. ‘Maintaining Balance’ and ‘Ragebait’ set the tone with ice-cold precision and unrelentingly slithering rhythms. ‘Equal To X’, ‘Stalemate’, ‘Remnants’ and ‘Completed Research’ flesh out a world of swampy low ends, mutant references and monochrome techno that is perfect for grotty warehouses. The two remixes expand the universe intelligently as Orbe brings his signature hypnotic elegance, while Psyk steers the material into more introspective, cerebral territory.
