Ilian Skee Series 12

Bryan Muller aka Skee Mask has been such a key part of the Ilian Tape label that he has his own dedicated sub-label. This latest entry on it offers up for more jostling, provocative techno and breakbeat fusions designed for the floor but with plenty of escapism built in. ‘The Usual Suspects’ is intense but jazzy, restless and rhythmically fresh with dub thump and cosmic chords. ‘Primotiv’ is wonderfully lo-fi and immediate with rusty loops and razor sharp hi-hats softened by lush chords, ‘Nights & Music’ is a twitchy breakbeat trip to the stars and ‘Highkey Phasing’ is another urgent, futurist cut with abstract soul buried deep in the mix.
