Some 13 years on from Tomorrow’s Harvest, and the newest BoC record has been all but confirmed. First, diehard Bleep customers received unmarked VHS tapes in the post; fans of analogue horror-nostalgia among them would jump for joy, as they contained degraded analog footage (and came with a fictional magazine advertising «exclusive supersonic flexi-disks»). Posters with the Hexagon Sun logo followed in London, Tokyo, New York and Los Angeles; ‘Tape 05’ appeared on YouTube on April 16, manifesting as harp melody over contextless, shimmery drone, the track later revealed as ‘Father And Son’. Now the full record’s firmed: 18 tracks at sixty-nine minutes, and we’re already in for wordplay in ‘Introit’ and hell-on-earth referentiality in ‘Naraka’. A Boards Of Canada record for a burning earth – our right to children having been revoked, given the state of things.
