Since making his vinyl debut on 9FINITY last year, up-and-coming producer Moles Borghese has taken his signature sound to Squid Recordings and Neptune Discs. Now he’s added another imprint to his rapidly expanding CV, Paris-based Griffe. He sets his stall out with the deeply psychedelic and mind-bending ‘Checkpoint’, where trippy and tweaked acid lines rub shoulders with hazy textures and echoing vocal snippets atop a sturdy techno beat, before offering up the acid bass-propelled early morning hypnotism of ‘Osmica’. Title track ‘It’s Just’ is sunnier and woozier with a hybrid deep house/dub techno groove, while closing cut ‘Dub 4’ is a smoother and more spacey chunk of mildly unsettling tech-house deepness.
