Fresh from collaborating with Trent Reznor on the surprise Nine Inch Noize outfit, Alex Ridha aka Boys Noise delivers an equally surprising two-tracker on Gerd Janson’s popular Running Back imprint. While famed for the grittiness of his electroclash and electro-house productions, the stellar ‘ITVLO’ sees him dipping into his Italo-disco influences with predictably impressive results. Throbbing and pulsating, with fizzing electronic motifs rising above a sequenced, arpeggio-style bassline and metronomic beats, it’s a muscular affair tailor-made for house and techno dancefloors. ‘LOVDED’, meanwhile, is similarly breathless and Italo-influenced, albeit with raw, angular and acidic sounds more in keeping with Ridha’s signature sound. Impressive stuff.
