Techno heavyweights Ben Klock and Fadi Mohem have their Layer One work remixed by some top-notch peers on this final Later release of the year. Azu Tiwaline & Cinna Peyghamy, Amotik, Quelza, and Alarico keep the sub-heavy gravity intact while dragging the material deeper into techno’s shadow zones. Flowdan and Coby Sey remain in place and serving up their vocal transmissions from a post-human wreckage, half warning, half memory. Bass fractures, rhythms mutate and tension coils throughout these cuts but nothing here aims for peak-time polish. This is music for the hours when the room thins out and reality slips so the weirdness is cranked up.
