Morning Blessing – Fruits 80
Lone Ark colabora con The 18th Parallel para la referencia número 80 del sello Fruits Records.
‘Morning Blessing’ carries plenty of signature roots conviction, and it starts with the message. Roberto Sanchez, working here as Lone Ark alongside The 18th Parallel and an increasingly prominent Spanish talent in the world of reggae, sings with gratitude rather than platitude. He makes a straightforward call to appreciate what you have, and delivers it over a driving stepper riddim that never lets the weight of the message weigh too heavily. The whole thing was recorded to 2″ tape across Geneva and Cueto, the drums and bass hit with extra clout and those horn arrangements give plenty of lift. The dub version on the flip, mixed by Sanchez himself, strips it down for the soundsystem crowd.
