After an overlong hiatus, Alter Echo & E3 return with the first release on their own AEE3 imprint. The title track, in collaboration with Ishan Sound, is a crushing slow-stepper layered with stinging percussion, leaden atmospherics and uncompromising dread. Rob Smith’s remix adds crystalline feels, extra percussion and emotive mid-range melodies plus signature bassweight. Om Unit’s ‘Kaliuyga Verse’ transforms the original track with spiritual vocals from Floyd ‘Red Crow’ Westerman, dub percussion, flute and uplifting textures while keeping the heaviness intact. Closing with ‘Southeast Rock’, the EP slows down for a dub-tech meditation driven by melodic bass and righteous horns.
