D-Leria may have found success in the hardcore scene initially, but he’s gone on to even greater things with the mind-twisting strain of techno he’s explored on labels like Avian, Non Series and his own Delirio. Sharing a certain surrealist energy with Stanislav Tolkachev, he arrives on Semantica with an extended EP which lays out the depth and breadth of his sound. Rather than emphasising the obvious tenets of kicks and snares, this is music which focuses on textural detail and non-standard rhythmic forms to create a different kind of techno. It still slams, and it’s absolutely built to be mixed, but it’s also saying something different, which is never a bad thing.
