Who or what is a Gockel? We aren’t sure, but they must like techno. This offering on the young but already impressive Patent label brings great weight and fresh momentum to four tracks of dub-leaning techno, all shaped by deep low-end pressure and a clear Detroit lineage. ‘Otorongo’ sets the tone with rolling subs and restrained tension, while ‘Pulsation’ locks into a steady, hypnotic groove built for long mixes. On the flip, ‘Visions’ leans into atmosphere and space, before ‘Euphoria’ closes with controlled intensity and forward motion. A stylish outing of well-balanced techno that works on both head and heel.
