Paris pairing Polar Inertia bring a 15-year collaborative arc to its close with MTY314 p, the fifth and final chapter in their border-bucking techno project – and just one part of their much wider multidisciplinary art workings. Formed in the early 2010s around anonymous, glacially precise club constructions, the group would slide at pace from tooled floors toward abstract terrains of concept. This bow-tying release brings 11 tracks caught in that fissure, between massed movement and ambient stillness: ‘Sea Of Data’, ‘Silent Motion’ and ‘Intimate Immensity’ serve the same frosted atmospheres we know and love, while ‘Frame Dragging’ and ‘Fractured’ reenter the dance arena with mightier, maximal tonality.
