Platipus 30 Years Vol 7

Episode seven in UK trance pioneers Platipus Records’ 30th anniversary key track re-release series boasts two legendary tunes balanced out with two somewhat underappreciated but equally great ones on the flip. One of Union Jack’s most iconic tracks, ‘Red Herring’ is an acid trance lovers’ dream, while Oliver Lieb’s remix of Art Of Trance’s ‘Kaleidoscope’ helped the already stand out track hit extraordinary heights with its rising melody and euphoric break. Torsten Fassbender’s remix of ‘Maelstrom’ by Simon Berry is more low-key yet ideal to fit in with today’s techno tempos. Lastly, Moogwai’s ‘S Wishes’ ends the EP on a sci-fi stormer that’s as equally dramatic as it is mysterious and alluring. Platipus has so many great tracks to feature on this series – each one gets more and more desirable as it goes along.
