Refreshing Part 2 – Tresor 386
Fireground regresa al sello Tresor para producir la segunda parte de su Refreshing, con cuatro bombas originales.
Tresor is a name which when uttered will no doubt cause a dopamine spike in the brain of any techno fan. The Berlin club’s label has been pumping out top quality releases since the nineties, and Fireground’s latest EP, ‘Refreshing Part 2’, meets that mark. Following on from the Italian duo’s 2023 EP ‘Refreshing Part 1’, this four tracker is full of loopy goodness perfeclty capturing the essence of the classic techno sound. ‘The Way’ comes flying in with a grumbling bass and tribal drums on loop, before they are joined by a psychedelic symphony of hi-hats, claps and short synth stabs creating a infectious yet chaotic intensity. ‘Elisir’ follows with a slightly irregular percussion arrangement before reversing into a clinical drop that sounds spacious and humongous. On the flip side, ‘Activate’ and ‘Family Trees’ get Fireground back into their hypnotic pocket of techno where you are instantly smacked by the groove and caught up in a conga line of loopy percussion for its duration, and everybody loves a conga line.
