The Arts label has been serving up fresh club sounds over more than 50 releases and the quality levels never drop. Next up to take the techno torch is USAW, a mysterious figure who makes shadowy sounds that lurk in the darkness. ‘Disposition’ is paranoid and menacing with its snaking bass and pressurised drums. ‘Dragonfly’ has a loopy cosmic melody bringing some light while ‘Distant Frequency’ sinks back into cancerous and dubby techno realms. The analogue textures and machine soul continue on ‘Neon Pulse’, which is fast and furious in its onward march, then ‘Respiro’ shuts down with a more airy, luminous sound and deft rhythm that suspends you above the floor.
