Manuel Di Martino, Conrad Van Orton and Volpe balance dub techno depth and Detroit spirit with real class here as the Parallel 41 label continues to build an impressive catalogue of contemporary techno. Di Martino’s two originals set the foundations – ‘Sakura’ is hypnotic and atmospheric, while ‘Kintsugi’ provides the EP’s emotional core as its dub-soaked depth really soothes. The remix pair pull the material in complementary directions: Conrad Van Orton strips things back to their barest, most pressurised essence, while Volpe injects raw Detroit-inspired drive that pushes the track toward the peak-time. All four cuts sit at the darker edges of the dancefloor, which is just where we like to be.
