Sharpened Teeth – Non 70

Erik Luebs operates in the minimal techno realm but with his own sense of powerful rhythm, as exemplified across this new EP for Non Series. ‘Acetic’ is stripped back to dry drums and modulated synths that are tightly clipped and injected in small loops. There is a dubby warmth to ‘Vibrating Membrane’ and off balance groove to the hurried-sounding swagger of ‘Rubbery Discombobulation’. ‘Heavy Viscocity’ brings anxious loops and cosmic unease over more rubbery drums and ‘The Pulse Of Resignation’ injects a little more funk with the claps and bubbly synth motifs. Minimal in design but maximal in atmosphere.
