Alberto Pascual is Ribe and it’s an alias for his raw, hard-hitting and drum-centric techno workouts. They have come on the likes of Axis and Pole before, which show you the sort of quality level he operates at, and now he lands on the equally assured Mord. ‘Son Eta’ is a gurgling swamp of scuzzy and slithering sonics underpinned by a blocky, solid kick drum. ‘La Incertidumbre’ locks you into a state of anxiety with wirey electronic loops and roaming static lines then ‘El Pavor’ sounds lie being trapped in a swarm of buzzing insects as a train track groove races along to nowhere in particular. ‘Cruel’ is a more pared-back and roomy sound but a still direct and linear groove for when the lights are low.
