Structure Series 1 – Molecular ST 01

Someone might’ve once perhaps daubed on a wall, ‘structures don’t march in the street’, but techno is protest music, and we’d bet that if this new V/A from Molecular was ghetto-blasted with enough fervour for a just cause, we’d be bound to see some protestant response. That said, six new ‘structures’ from Molecular Recordings – the first part of their new Structures series – come bowling our way; a worthy sextet of pressure-risers, to say the ut-least. Whether the likes of ‘The Curve’, ‘Light Flare’, or ‘Iccha’ are taken as purely real, empirically acoustic disturbances – or as the abstract, vaguely synaesthetic thought-forms that our brains are sure to make of them – these are surely motivative enough causes for concern, danceable or otherwise. We’ll admit that structures don’t always march in the street, but where they don’t, they surely do corral people onto dancefloors. The energy’s gotta go somewhere!
