Taino Gold – Livity 71
Jurango se encarga de la referencia número 71 del sello Livity Sound con ocho tracks originales recopilados en un doble 12″.
Bristol producer Jurango stretches out with his longest work yet, an eight-track double EP for Livity Sound that expands his knotty, percussive vision into vivid widescreen. Building on earlier turns for the label and its reverse arm, he threads together UK techno variations that feel both personal and precise. ‘Black Torches’ unfurls in cascading arps before the tunnelling chords of ‘Waiting For Trelawny’ dig into deep, propulsive territory. ‘Hibiscus’ gleams with dub techno shimmer and crooked drum pressure, while ‘Chalk On Trees’ closes on fathoms-deep pads and aqueous drift. Elsewhere, the angular ‘Maybe It’s Broken’ splashes acidic detail around its taut frame, and ‘Double Sevens’ jolts forward on infectious double-time kicks. The breadth of the set reflects Jurango’s ongoing evolution while sharpening the melodic dimension of his sound – a rich, exploratory chapter for both artist and label.
