Xris Vavrzhina hails from Moscow and heads up the Raw-Waveform label. Here she finds herself on TH Tar Hallow out of the Netherlands with a fresh techno EP designed for when time and space are blurred at around 4am in a warehouse. ‘The Memory Of Your Perfume’ has a big, echoing architecture and growing, moaning synths that suggest emotional longing. ‘White Rose’ is minimal and slithery with glistening bells and supple drums and bass staying low in the mix. ‘False’ has closed loops and sonar pulses as well as endlessly rattling cowbells that make it an organic but futuristic sound and ‘You Can Always Choose’ brings decidedly more weight with dubby undercurrents and rattling chords disappearing off to infinity.
