The First Rebirth (remastered) – Bonzai Classics V 2023042S
Reedición del mítico First Rebirth, que además incluye unos cuantos remixes.
Belgian duology Jones & Stephenson recorded ‘The First Rebirth’ live at The Cockpit in Antwerp, 1993. The track has gone down in time as a casus belli, its first edition sparking a holy war between hard trance and Dutch gabber/hardcore scenes over which is its rightful claimant. Bonzai’s original 1993 pressing lent fuel to the flame, leading it to have been remixed more than 20 times since, most recently by Reinier Zonneveld. His version appears midway through this comprehensive selectors’ set alongside heart-in-mouth, angel-rave versions from Airwave, John 00 Fleming and Charlotte De Witte. It’s also a «plays inside out» edition, one of many recent Bonzai records to brave an opposite runout direction – so be careful where you drop the needle.
