Take an offroad with LSB this August; escape the scorching heat with this album-length escape into mist-caked, somnolent liquid. The Middle is Luke Beavon’s first LP since 2020-ish, and aims at quite a specific end: to make liquid for an audience who care less for performing youth (he’s been at this since 2011). LSB’s breaks tend to mould to the ambience by degrees, hitting hard against sentimental piano-arpeggios on ‘Without You’ and merging more organically and smoothly out the ultra-deep submergences of ‘The Present’.
