Munich’s mighty Ilian Tape is back with Rich Jones aka Operator, who has been having a big year with some fine outings on the likes of R3VOLUTION as well as a precious EP here back in February. ‘Dhampir’ kicks off with dusty drums and broken patterns with mysterious synth daubs hanging in the air above. ‘The Dress She Wore’ then picks up the pace with undulating, heavy drums and sandy claps and hits with dub chords this time smeared up top. ‘Vector Spirit’ is more dark and dank with flat, hard-edge drums almost falling over themselves and ‘Winding & Remote’ brings things to a close with radiant pads and tightly stacked, no-frills deep techno drums to make for a perfect blend of body and mind music.
