Jamaican reggae veteran Max Romeo – once a teacher and later a dub artist whose crowdpleasing didactics made many a politically illumined crowd – returns with this EP, recorded in 2023 ahead of an epochal concert in Compiegne, France. A rootsy sixth-sense interprets a holy dub text, with ‘The Time Is Now’, ‘The Ark’s Legacy’, and ‘Horns In Dub’, all set over rare-earth riddims herded by none other than the Dub Shepherds. Lyrics and production come from Nesta Egor, with recording and mixing at Bat Records Studio, and Max Romeo’s vocals laid down at Paradis Blanc Studio by Theo, before Dr Charty handled the dub, mix, and mastering.
