13 years after still truly iconic debut, Italian pair Voices From The Lake return with part two and a masterful continuation of their ambient techno odyssey. Donato Dozzy and Neel reaffirm their signature aqueous soundscapes here and mix mind-melting rhythmic deftness with a renewed sense of exploration. The album balances signature depth with subtle experimentation that reflects the duo’s evolution through live performances and installations. II is both a nod to their past and a bold step forward that teases out beauty and transformation from slowly shifting timbres. Just as good as the first album, frankly.
