Irish DJ and producer Kerrie has been a pivotal figurehead in the re-emergence of Manchester as a genuinely forward-facing techno city, not least through her key role at the iconic Eastern Bloc record store (and late night sin den), then with her own DMF (Dark Machine Funk) label, production workshops, showcases, panels and Palestine fundraisers. Although all that activity has garnered a reputation (winning over bookers at venues worldwide, and earning her a spot on the list of Tresor Berlin residents), ultimately, it’s her sound that has always done most of the talking. Gritty, groovy, packed with 3AM hypnotics, teeth that bite and at attitude that does not let up. Stopping by the equally great Cultivated Electronics, she presents electro that makes you forget where the basement walls are. Let alone the exit.
