The second instalment in the WAYF series, Michele Pinna’s London label, continues its stated mission: techno as a venture into time and place. Here with the next ‘When Are You From’ V/A, Tensal tenses his muscles with ‘Suspence’, a tightly controlled storm of rhythmic bass with deliberate typo; Stanislav Tolkachev follwows with ‘Invisible Shapes’, the spiking, abstract turn with its skittish, artificial plucks. The B-side, meanwhile, counters the A’s tone considerably, with Time Traveler, Mmss, Conceptual and Mohamad Kafarsoussa all adding widespan texture and gasseous atmospheres rivalling that of the moon Titan.
