Wings – Rawax RV 09
Ricardo Villalobos produce los dos extensos trackazos originales que forman este EP para el sello Rawax.
Rawax has become a home from home for the untouchable Chilean minimal icon, Ricardo Villalobos and that’s where he returns for the ninth outing in his own series. ‘Wings’ is a brand new cut that comes in two versions: the A-side has a warm, balmy feel in place of his usual synthetic abstractions. It’s been designed for long open-air sessions in Ibiza, you suspect, with pads that swirl and stretch over a rubbery, bubbly rhythm. ‘Wings 2’ is a little more focused and dialled in, with the drums more clipped and the filters and envelopes on the synths a little sharper. It’s a perfect track to transition from day to night.
