115 – Play:musik 12011
El alemán Kuttin Edge produce cuatro elegantes tracks para formar este EP lanzado por el sello Play:musik.
Hamburg heavyweight Kuttin Edge makes his Play:music debut with this beautiful four-piece set of cosmic, star-gazing d&b. The moment ‘Onyeabor’ makes a very explicit reference to a true Afrofunk maverick in both its title and those amazing synth blasts. It sets the levels high for the remainder of the EP: ‘Dark Horse’ opens up from a textural lofi chrysalis into a shattered rainbow of blasts, ‘Loop Me’ is based around a stunning snake-like arpeggio that builds and twists in a way that’s reminiscent of both Pryda and Bop. Finally ‘Gieger Scale’ closes the EP with a radioactive twang. Imagine if James Holden made drum & bass and you’re in the right hazmat.
