Quadrilocular EP (reissue) – Environ MET 150

Morgan Geist produce tres tracks originales para dar forma a esre EP, que además incluye rework de Dan Curtin.

Fire off the classic EP klaxon, cause that’s exactly what we have here with Morgan Geist’s ‘Quadrilocular’ four tracker, which was first issued in 1994 on Metamorphic Recordings. Now newly remastered from the original tapes, which were composed and mixed in Geist’s Ohio college dorm using a bare bones, tape-based setup, the record still bangs with the precision and melodic flair that would become his calling card. It begins with an archetypal Midwestern techno gem in ‘Room 120-2’ which has rubbery, thumping kicks and sinewy sci-fi synths. ‘Vectors Of Interpretation’ is another nimble and elastic rhythm that hits hard but comes with soft synths and playful reverie. ‘Spillway’ is clipped, minimal and funky and a Dan Curtin rework closes out with real intergalactic tension. Do not sleep.
