Lights Down EP – Global Pulse 05

Rosati throws it back to early 2000s techno with this new EP for his own label, Global Pulse. It’s chunky tackle but with funk in the bones and hints of styles taken from his Italian homeland and current base in Amsterdam. ‘Lights Down’ has percussion fluttering over the surging rhythms and a sleek edge that is clean and crisp. ‘Grafiti Tapes’ veers into speedy house territory of the sort you might find on a Nail record and ‘Base Chord’ then ups the ante again with dub chords rising and falling over straight up and straight ahead techno bounce. ‘Zoom Out’ shows some well-crafted synth details as they flash about above tightly coiled rhythms. Four fresh cuts that bring brightness and uplift.
