Twilight Abyss – Materia 31

Belgian techno lifer Marco Bailey shades in an already dark corner of his catalogue with ‘Twilight Abyss’, a two-track release from a producer who moved from early 90s trance into firmer circuitry by the end of that decade. Bailey, long based in Belgium and known for labels such as MB Elektronics, Materia and Elektronik Zoo, goes to bed late on ‘Twilight Abyss’, carving out a pressure-packed, thermal-shocking grooveset, full of crackles and sonic shunts. ‘Cybernetic Echoes’ goes in for a more metallic, piston-tight pulse; both tracks land between his late 90s momentum and the tougher warehouse modes he has pursued over the past few years.
