After an 18-month break, sometime Overflow and Phonica AM contributor Niall Prescott returns to action. This time round, he’s brought his fast-rising Rhythms of Prescott project to Cromby’s Berlin-based Potency imprint. Nostalgic and trippy in tone, the EP boasts two tidy tools (the deep space 90s ambient soundscape ‘Funk The Coalition’ and drum dub ‘Fruity Frivolous Fax Machine’) and a pair of peak-time ready workouts. There’s nine-minute title track ‘Run of Deluxe’, a deliciously psychedelic and far-sighted affair that fuses trance-influenced drums and early progressive house motifs with dreamy ambient chords and sparkling melodic motifs, and the chunkier and more sub-heavy »So What Mojo’ – all bleep-influenced bass, rolling house beats, echoing vocal snippets and trippy guitar samples.
