Portal – Segment 01

This first release from Elisa Batti and Isabel Soto sets a clear sonic foundation for the new label Segment out of the Netherlands. ‘Lumina’ opens with measured intensity that draws from spacious, roomy techno but never forgets the drive a good tune needs to make an impact. ‘Our Vortex’ deepens the mood with fluid rhythms and on the flip, ‘Veil of Maya’ is more about textured atmospherics and pulling you in ever deeper to its mysterious world. ‘Endless Horizon’ closes with a steady, meditative pulse for when the dancefloor just needs to cruise. There’s no rush to impress here, just a carefully defined palette.
