Prima Materia is a Paris-based label serving up serious techno from the French capital, which of course has a long history thanks to icons like Laurent Garnier. Fuse resident Downside and label mainstay Dictent Vroom hook up for volume three of the label’s Half Sided Series and the former diesel into a taught, tense, on-your-toes brand of dub techno that doesn’t hang about. Dictent Vroom then goes for a more mental workout with synthetic lines, bleeps and pulses all scurrying around a straight-up banging groove on ‘Roots Frequencies’ before ‘Dismantled’ shuts down with slamming force and eerie synth architecture.
