A veteran returns with fresh ammo, as UK drum & bass architect Dom & Roland steps back in with ‘Badman/Through The Noise’ through his very own sound-syringe, Individual, a new 12″ following a decades-long run stretching back to late 90s Metalheadz and Moving Shadow. Real name Dominic Angas, Dom & Roland’s long pushed a darker, tech-steeped strain of d&b, and both cuts here say amen to that; ‘Badman’ is a true-say horrible (in the good way) tune, its guttural growl bass writhing in strange space, like the enteritic pains of a jabberwocky. ‘Through The Noise’ is a straight-up tone flip, hearing unknown female vocals racket against mecha-beefed amens – «electric whispers pull me in…»
