The Analogue Audio Archive yields its first results with a collection of four cuts from four artists who know how to speak freely through their machines. Linear System’s ‘Ghost Mode’ is archetypal deep space techno a la early Jeff Mills. No notes. Hugo Rolan explores similarly supple, cosmic techno headiness and Translate then explores outside those lines with a blend of automated kicks and wispy synths that appear and disappear like plumes of smoke. Ben Behrendt shut down with the more driving and immediate loops of ‘History Of My World.’ Tasteful techno for head and body.
